Shellharbour has been allocated $50,000 for eight sporting clubs, with the most going to Oak Flats Tennis Club, which will receive $13,000 for the installation of new fencing at Oak Flats Tennis Centre.
Lake Illawarra Cricket Club is also set to receive $10,685 for the replacement of grandstand seating at Howard Fowles Oval in Lake Illawarra.
"This club was only recently recognised as an All-Abilities Cricket Club, the first in the Greater Illawarra Cricket Zone," Shellharbour MP Anna Watson said.
"It's so great to see a progressive club like this, leading the way locally; breaking down barriers to ensure greater accessibility to the sport of cricket for people with disabilities and/or special needs.
"With the All-Abilities cricket season set to commence this month, this funding will go a long way towards ensuring a safe and successful season for Lake Illawarra Cricket Club."
Wollongong has also been allocated $50,000 for 10 sporting clubs, with Illawarra netball players to benefit from a $15,000 funding grant for the Illawarra District Netball Association to upgrade lighting of the netball courts at Fred Finch Park.
Unanderra Hearts Soccer Club will also receive $9000 towards installing female change rooms and toilets at Unanderra Oval.
Wollongong MP Paul Scully said he was pleased to be able to recommend a spread of funding grants for projects across sporting groups in the Wollongong electorate.
"I'm particularly pleased to have recommended a number of projects for funding that focus on women's sporting participation in our local community, which I hope will encourage more participation in their chosen sporting codes," he said.
