The 20-year-old played a key role in Sydney FC securing the premiership and fired home the first goal in their 3-0 semi-final win against Canberra United on Monday.
Now, the Sky Blues are focused on claiming the title double when they face Melbourne Victory in Sunday's grand final at Kogarah.
"We've worked so hard this year and we did a really good performance in the semi. We're super happy to be through to the grand final," Hawkesby said.
"They're (Victory) an outstanding team across the park. We only played them last week so we know what they're like but, on the day, it's anyone's game and they're a really good team. So I think we will have to be at our best to beat them.
"But we came into the season knowing we had the belief and [coach] Ante (Juric) had such belief in our team. If we keep playing well and have that Sydney FC spirit, I think we can do the double."
Hawkesby played eight games in her debut W-League campaign last season, including their 1-0 grand final loss to Melbourne City.
After re-signing with the club last August, Hawkesby has played 13 games in 2020/21, starting several times and scoring three goals.
"I'm super happy to be given more game time this year and I think I've taken it with two hands," she said.
"I'm surrounded by amazing players which makes it better for me. I'm grateful that Ante has given me the opportunity to play with other young players, which I think has helped me a lot."
