The pair are less than two weeks out from meeting centre-ring at the WIN Entertainment Centre, and have stepped the barbs up as fight-time nears.

They shared a few more in "facing off" on Fox Sports on Thursday, with Gallen questioning everything from Browne's claims to being Australia's best ever heavyweight, the credibility of his world title billing, and boxing ability.

Gallen doubled-down following a hit-out at his home gym in Cronulla on Friday, saying Browne is simply piling on the pressure on himself with his claims to GOAT status.

"I haven't made anything up or got involved in trash talk, I'm just repeating what Lucas has said," Gallen said.

"[He's] calling himself the GOAT, calling me the footy player. I don't have to make up trash talk, I'm just going to go off what Lucas says. He still thinks I'm [just] a footy player, he refers to me as a footy player.

"He's called himself the greatest Australian heavyweight of all time so I've got no pressure on me, all the pressure's on him. I don't know what's going to be left for him after he gets beat by a footy player.

"I know he's trying to plan fights over in England at the moment, I know he's got the Justis Huni fight planned. It is signed, but once I beat him it's going to take all the shine off that fight, that fight's going to be irrelevant.

"I don't know what he's going to do after I beat him. The position he's put himself in... he's painted himself into that corner. I haven't had anything to do with it. All the pressure's on him and he's put it on himself."

While the pedigree and power advantage is undoubtedly with Browne, Gallen says the former WBA regular champion doesn't present much of a puzzle.

"I've just got to box him, that's all I have to do," Gallen said.

"He's got big power, we all know that, that's how he's won all his fights. He says I'm not a boxer, I don't think he's a boxer to be honest. He's got power, that's what he's relied on the past 10 years.

"He has been the number one heavyweight in Australia for the past 10 years and I take my hat off to him for what he's achieved. I used to be a Lucas Browne fan, I never thought I'd be in this position of actually fighting him.

"He's got good power, I'm going to box him, be smart, not get caught by anything too big hopefully. I'm going to get punched, it's boxing. Floyd Mayweather got hit, so I'm going to get hit at times, I've just got to not get hit by a big clean punch. If I do that I win the fight."
