The two-day event will look vastly different with up to 14,000 punters split into four seated sections of the football field - each with their own sound systems, LED screens, food stalls and bars - with two revolving main stages in the middle.
With an all Australian lineup, Illawarra and South Coast acts ready to shine on the main stages this Saturday and Sunday include Hockey Dad, The Vanns, Cry Club, amd Shining Bird. They'll be joined by headliners Tones and I, Hayden James, Lime Cordiale, Pnau, DMA's and more.
It's been a turbulent 12 months for organisers to produce the festival with volatile pandemic restrictions forcing Wollongong's biggest music festival to be postponed again, and again.
It was only given the final green light just a week before showtime after a change of venue forced organisers before the Wollongong Local Planning Panel.
As of Tuesday April 12, general admission tickets were still available for the usually sold out event through Moshtix.
Road Closures:
Carters Lane will be closed from Elliotts Road to Dixon Street on Saturday and Sunday, and Pioneer Road will be a one-way street northbound to Edgar Street during the festival (which starts at midday and runs until 11pm Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday.
Motorists should allow extra travel time in the area and follow the direct of traffic controllers onsite, and should also be aware of increased pedestrian movemnet over the weekend.
Some FAQ's:
Will I have what I need in my zone? Each zone will be self-contained with its own entry and exits, a smaller stage giving a secondary space to consume music, main bar, cocktail bar, dining area, hand-picked food stalls, toilets, water refill stations, phone charging, merch stores, hand sanitising stations and friendly COVID safety marshals to answer all of your questions when you arrive. If you have previously bought a ticket prior to the format change, you will need to have your ticket reissued and allocated a zone. Please make sure you plan this accordingly with your friends to avoid any disappointment on the day.
What happens if it rains? This is an outdoor concert, so we play rain or shine. You may bring wet weather protection such as ponchos and raincoats however umbrellas are not permitted. If it rains, the show will go on. The show will only be abandoned if conditions are deemed dangerous. Refunds will only be available at the point of purchase, if a show is abandoned or cancelled. The decision to cancel a show will be made on show day. In the event of inclement weather patrons should check on Yours and Owls Facebook page BEFORE departing for the show for messages regarding traffic, parking or wet weather arrangements.
What if I got my ticket from Festicket? Festicket and MOSHTIX customers will be re-issued new tickets from MOSHTIX (only). Any tickets pending resale at this time will be revoked from resale, and those customers will receive new zoned tickets. Customers must disregard old tickets (no longer valid) and use their new zoned tickets.
What happens when I arrive at the festival? Look at the event map and go to the allocated zone. They are colour coded so easy to find. One of the Yours and Owls crew will direct you to your seat. It's just like going to the theatre, the footy, or a stadium rock show. And just like getting front row in the mosh, it will be first in best dressed as far as seat allocation is concerned.
How do I stay with my mates? Make sure you arrange to meet your mates prior and enter the site together. A crew that arrives together, sits together!
Can I go to another section? No, you can't. You will need to remain in your section for the duration of the event.
Can I move around my section? Yes, you can! You will be able to move freely to make the most of the bars, food, merch and to check out acts on the smaller stage in your section.
