Four occupants escaped the Bulgo Road house without injury after a fire alarm alerted them to the blaze.
Firefighters preventing the fire spreading to neighbouring homes, but the house was destroyed.
But police have determined that a fire which destroyed four cars and a motorbike in a car park underneath a Fairy Meadow apartment complex on Sunday afternoon was not suspicious.
Their initial inquiries suggested a parked car spontaneously ignited.
In total, eight other vehicles were damaged and there was also minor damage to building services.
No one was injured.
