Demi Teresa Mauro, 29, fronted Wollongong Local on Friday where she was expected to be sentenced for the driving matters however the case was adjourned so other charges relating to drugs, cash and firearms could be finalised.
Mauro previously pleaded guilty to negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence of drugs and driving whilst disqualified.
Agreed facts tendered to court said Mauro was driving northbound with a male passenger in her friend's silver Mazda 6 along the M1 Princes Motorway on November 1, 2019.
About 1.45pm, two drivers noticed Mauro's car swerving and changing lanes close to the Nolan Street overpass at Unanderra.
One driver said he noticed Mauro and her passenger arguing before he saw Mauro strike the man twice.
While another driver, who was directly behind the Mazda, told police he put distance between their cars because Mauro was swerving between the two lanes for a couple of minutes.
Shortly after going under the overpass, the Mazda veered sharply to the left, entering lane one, as the passenger briefly took control of the steering wheel.
The car then veered sharply to the right, partially re-entering lane two, before harshly swerving to the left, travelling through lane one and onto the western side breakdown lane.
The driver's side collided heavily into the rock embankment and began to rotate and roll, partially re-entering lane one.
A bus driver transporting 54 school children had to break and take evasive action in an attempt to avoid a collision with the Mazda that slid down the road onto its roof.
However, the rear of the Mazda hit the passenger side of the bus, causing major damage before the car came to a stop in the breakdown lane.
Drivers had to steer onto the grass verge and breakdown lane to avoid crashing before they got out of their cars to help Mauro and the passenger, who both were able to exit the vehicle through the windows.
Police and ambulance were called and attended the scene.
Mauro told an officer and paramedic the man was driving the car because she she was unlicenced and disqualified from driving until 2029.
Mauro, who sustained seatbelt abrasions to her neck, also told the paramedic she had taken the drug 'ice' and the man had "grabbed the wheel".
He suffered extensive injuries to his left am, including skin loss and bone fractures, and was airlifted to St George Hospital where he underwent four surgeries.
A sample of Mauro's blood showed the presence of amphetamine and methamphetamine, with a doctor reporting the amount was in the "toxic to potentially fatal range" and Mauro's driving ability would have been impaired.
Mauro's driving and the crash was captured on dashcam footage.
The case was adjourned to May for sentence.
