The teacher Phil Saunders, 47, was not present at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.
Instead his lawyer sought the police brief of evidence to be served and the case was adjourned to June 1.
Court documents revealed Saunders, who lives in Mount Pleasant, allegedly placed his hand on a teenage girl's back and ran it down to her bottom at a Wollongong school in 2018.
Police said the charges followed an investigation by Wollongong detectives that began earlier this year after the girl reported a teacher had inappropriately touched her.
Saunders was arrested on March 17 and charged with aggravated indecent assault.
He was granted strict conditional bail and has been suspended from teaching.
