The inaugural 'Anzac Day Illawarra Digger Drop Off' took place in 2020.
Last year, volunteers delivered 1050 personalised 'respect packages' to those who have served (or their families), in conflicts ranging from World War II to Afghanistan and Iraq.
The initiative was launched by East Corrimal community advocate Leigh Stewart.
This year, the initiative is again being conducted with assistance from Illawarra RSL sub-branches, and groups such as Vietnam Veterans' Association and Legacy.
The packages are being distributed this weekend.
About 30 IRT employees and their families will also be volunteering over the weekend to deliver the packs.
IRT volunteers will make deliveries from Picton to Kiama to about 190 IRT Home Care and Aged Care residents.
Mr Stewart said they were seeking last minute nominations for recipients, including service people not associated with RSL clubs who may have been missed.
"Also, the younger veterans don't put their hand up, and a lot of the veterans don't either because they're very humble," he said.
"They don't want to put anyone out of their way... But what we want to let everyone know is that it's not putting us out. There's a lot of people that are wanting to honour them in this way."
The hampers contain donated or heavily discounted items such as local light beers, Anzac biscuits and letters from local school children.
Mr Stewart said members of the public could donate, or purchase a package for someone who has served.
