John Friend was hopeful things would have returned to normal this year to allow him, family and friends to attend a traditional Anzac Day service.
Nevertheless, Mr Friend was still happy enough to organise another service on Sunday, April 25 for his fellow Nardoo Crescent residents.
"We thought last year's service would be a one-off because of COVID. When we found out the restrictions would remain in place this year we quickly set out organising another service for our street," he said.
"I conferred with the lady coordinating Austinmer and Thirroul's normal services and she gave us her blessings."
The "simple little ceremony" starts at 6am on Sunday.
Mr Friend is confident the 60 plus people who attended last year will be back in 2021.
"Some 95 per cent of our residents took part last year. It was great to see and I'm confident we will have just as good a day this year," he said.
"This year we will start with Amazing Grace, then we will have The Ode, The Last Post and then have a minute's silence before we have the Reveille. This will be followed by the Australian national anthem.
"It will be a short service. We just want people to pay their respects and mark what is a very important day in our history."
