Which means on May 23 classic and vintage style motorcycle riders in the region will don their finest attire to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health through the Movember Foundation.
Jane Sim, of City Coast Motorcycles, said it was hoped by holding the annual ride earlier in 2021 the motorcyclists around the world will be able to celebrate a decade of the global event in sunshine.
"It will now permanently move from September to May, which will fit in better with the weather difficulties impacting the event in the Northern Hemisphere," she said.
"Locally, I think it will benefit our ride as it will no longer fall within the school holidays.
"This is a very well-supported local event. To date our Wollongong ride has raised almost $200,000 for men's health. In 2019 it ranked 11th out of some 700 cities."
City Coast Motorcycles are taking registrations now for fundraisers to participate in the May 23 ride through the Illawarra.
The day will begin with Wollongong's dapper Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery judging the most dapper dressed lady and gentleman.
The start location and route will be revealed to registered participants a few days prior to the event.
