Wollongong City Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said, "There are nearly 14,000 businesses operating in the Wollongong Local Government Area with the vast majority considered small to medium sized enterprises.
"These businesses are a vital part of our local economy. Collectively they employ thousands of people, provide essential products and services and help to drive regional growth."
Shellharbour City Mayor Marianne Saliba said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us in almost every way imaginable. It has hurt local businesses and tested our resilience. I am incredibly proud of the way our community has risen to the challenge."
