Speaking in public for the first time in just over a month, Mr Ward said he was "getting on with the job", even though he had stepped down from the ministry and his job as local member.
Mr Ward told WIN News he could not comment on the allegations - which he still had not heard from police.
"I don't know the details of what exactly the allegations are," he said.
"It's hard to respond to a question around allegations when you don't know what the substance of them (are).
"The police have a job to do. It's inappropriate for me to comment on the police investigation because, one, I don't know the details of what exactly the allegations are and, two, they need to be able to do that work, so I'm going to do my job, I'll let them do theirs."
Mr Ward told WIN he had continued to work for his electorate, despite announcing he had stepped back from his role as Kiama MP in the wake of the historical allegations.
"I've been getting out and about, not as much as I once did, but I've got a job to do and I intend to get on with it," he said.
"Whatever might be happening in the background I'm going to continue to serve my community every day that I can."
In his first Facebook post since the allegations emerged, Mr Ward on Tuesday pointed out he had delivered a key commitment made to voters when he entered state politics.
"One of the reasons I stood for parliament was to fix the Princes Highway - and when I make a promise, I always get it done," he said.
"As the Albion Park Rail bypass nears completion, our community will have the opportunity to celebrate the opening of the largest-ever single investment in the history of the Princes Highway and the largest single infrastructure project in our region's history by walking on the Albion Park Rail bypass this Saturday 19 June."
