The side will host Marconi at Albert Butler Park on Sunday afternoon in a match that's crucial to their finals aspirations.
With six games remaining, the Wolves know the only way to break into the top five is to continue winning.
"It was an important three points for us," Wilkshire said. "The second-half performance was much better, it was more like us. I was pleased with that, now we need to take that second-half performance and turn it into a 90-minute performance this week.
"We can always keep improving and that's the challenge on Sunday."
Marconi have endured a frustrating season, sitting ninth on the ladder with just two wins and 10 draws. The teams played out a 2-2 draw in round six.
Last week's victory saw the Wolves climb to sixth, two points behind fifth-placed Sydney Olympic.
A number of injury clouds loom over the Wolves, with captain Lachlan Scott battling to overcome a hamstring injury while Darcy Madden is also questionable.
Regardless of who lines up on Sunday, Wilkshire is preparing his players for a tough, physical affair.
"Marconi are normally a direct team, a physical team, so we'll have to deal with plenty of balls into the box and long throw ins'' he said.
"It's something we're very aware of and it's important we focus on being at our best for 90 minutes. Every game from now until the end of the season is a final for us."
