Judging is underway in this year's Illawarra and South Coast Local Business Awards and competition is tight as always.
Finalists were selected based on the number of online and printed nominations that they received from the public - the more nominations they received, the better the chance of being selected as a finalist.
The judging is based on a two stage process:
- Information provided by the business
- Anonymous visit by a judge
These judges will visit the business premises of each finalist and evaluate them based on certain criteria. This includes customer service, range and/or presentation of products/services, value for money and the overall business presentation, including the online presence of the company and the online experience provided to the customer.
Precedent Productions managing director and Awards' founder Steve Loe said judges were extremely impressed by the calibre of this year's nominees.
"Our judges said it's going to be very difficult to determine the winners in each category," Mr Loe said.
"It's hardly surprising, given the outstanding quality of businesses in the Illawarra and South Coast area."
Mr Loe said more than three decades of running the Awards had given him insight into how adaptable and hard-working Illawarra and South Coast business people and their staff are.
"Their outstanding customer service is why the Illawarra and South Coast community continues to support them in good times and bad as well as nominating them for these awards," he said.
The Illawarra and South Coast Local Business Awards are only possible with the support of the Awards' partners, Warilla Grove Shopping Centre, Bx and White Key Marketing.
