The restrictions on sitting down in indoor bars will be reapplied as part of the response to the expanding Bondi COVID cluster.
And while Hotel Illawarra publican Ryan Aitchison points out the hospitality industry has become "experts at adapting", he expects the restrictions will hit hard.

"Generally, hospitality finds people just don't go out [under restrictions]," Mr Aitchison said.
"You go out to let your hair down and to shake rules off, but now it's less attractive for you to walk out and be greeted by a set rules you do not have on your own couch.
"We [the industry] kind of treat it like the end of the world for a week ... we've had a few cancellations come through already.
"Like everyone we're hoping it blows over quickly, the testing rates stay high and we can get back to business as quickly as possible."
Like the tourism industry, Mr Aitchison said the hospitality industry supported the urgent need for the vaccination rollout.
"It would be a game changer because when we have one or two cases in Wollongong, which draw us back into Greater Sydney, the situation wouldn't be dealt with like this because we'd know our vaccine rates are high and the chances of it becoming a cluster are significantly less," he said.
"As it stands now we know this is the smartest way forward even though it hurts our bottom line and those casual staff and contractors who do not get that same level of hours."
Mr Aitchison urged people to continue to support their local hospitality venues as much as possible.
"There are plenty of ways to support hospitality without putting yourself in danger and most importantly when this is over get out there and really give it a nudge," he said.
