Football has been suspended since Greater Sydney went into lockdown at 6pm on June 26, with the period set to end at midnight Friday.
Football South Coast chief executive officer Ann-Maria Balliana said her organisation had been in consultation with clubs on getting local competitions - including the IPL - back up and running "as soon as possible".
"We've sent clubs a bit of a roadmap on what we plan on doing, if the lockdown ends this Friday. But it all depends on when we found out if the lockdown will extend," she said. "If we're finding out on say Friday, we're going to have to make a call a little earlier because some clubs will need to prepare for the weekend. We're just trying to think of the volunteers for things like canteen, you can't just sit on your hands and not do anything until you know what's going on.
"It's just a day-to-day perspective that we have to take on the situation really."
The IPL was suspended with eight regular rounds left. Balliana says FSC will at different fixture options when play resumes, preferring not to extend the season.
"Our club's volunteers really had no break between the end of this season and the start of this one, so we're really conscious of their workload," she said.
"In the men's premiership space in particular, we could always look at a Bert Bampton (Cup) weekend and double headers. But we have to look at the whole player welfare component as well. If we have to, we will extend the season by one or two weeks."
