The announcement came on Saturday as the NBL's free agency continues, with Tyler Harvey re-committing to the Hawks the previous day. The club also signed former Cleveland Cavaliers strength and conditioning trainer Alex Moore on Friday.

It's understood the Hawks have also reached in-principle agreement with Boomer Duop Reath but a formal deal is yet to be inked.

Deng's announcement comes nearly 12 months after he signed with the club. The 29-year-old played 15 minutes per game for the Hawks this season, averaging more than six points and four rebounds per outing as his side surged into the playoffs.

However, the 203cm forward now begins his next chapter in Brisbane. It is set to be Deng's fourth NBL club, after starting his career with the Kings before having a stint as an injury replacement in New Zealand before joining the Hawks.

The Hawks took to social media on Saturday afternoon to wish Deng good luck.

"We are thrilled to have Deng Deng on board for the upcoming season. Deng is a player that perfectly fits into our system and the culture we are trying to build at the Bullets," Brisbane head coach James Duncan said.

"Through perseverance Deng has been able to get to this point in his career. A highly energetic contributor on the defensive end of the floor and a player that wants to play team basketball on the offensive side, Deng is set to become a fan favourite.

"Last season was a breakout one for Deng and we look forward to helping him continue his growth at the Bullets."
