Ryan Cram and Lyndal Rogers have both been longstanding employees of WIN Corporation who own i98 and C91.3 - Cram having started with the company two decades ago and Rogers 18 years ago.
The pair have signed a contract to take on Wave FM's new drive show from 3pm to 7pm weekdays though won't start until November due to "contractual obligations".
"We'd intended to build a new show from scratch but when Ryan and Lyndal became an option it just made sense to hire them immediately," Grant Broadcasters Group content director Ryan Rathbone said.
Currently the duo host breakfast with Marty Haynes on i98 who will continue with the station.
"After being on-air in the Illawarra for 21 years at the same radio station, I felt it was time for a change and to challenge myself," Cram said in a statement.
"Banter has always been at the heart of our friendship and I know that will continue at Wave FM," added Rogers.
A job advertisement for the Wave FM drive show had been placed on various industry websites, although general manager Joel Gosper said they wanted to put the "local community first" by having familiar personalities and locally driven content.
i98 has announced on Monday they would launch "a brand new Breakfast Show in Spring 2021" but did not reveal if Haynes would continue as a solo host or with others.
"Marty Haynes and we are very pleased that he will continue to be a part of waking the Illawarra up each day," i98 Station Manager Tia Davis said in a statement.
"I thank Crammy and Lyndal for their time with us and wish them well in the future."
