The government department has introduced the measure during the lockdown, as people are discouraged from taking public transport.
The measures will take effect from the next pay cycle.
NSW Health is also seeking the assistance of councils to waive parking fines around hospitals and vaccination facilities.
A Wollongong City Council spokesperson said the council had been working with NSW Health since the start of the pandemic and continued to do so.
"This includes conversations about parking in the city centre as the opening of the vaccination centre draws closer," the spokesperson said.
"We are also focusing our parking enforcement towards regulating unsafe parking practices such as no stopping zones and clearways, compliance with Mobility Parking Scheme and general community safety, while maintaining a high level of discretion."
