Perez and former US Open champion Sam Stosur were outclassed 6-4, 6-4 by Switzerland duo Belinda Bencic and Vikorija Golubic.

The loss came after world No.1 and Wimbledon champion Ash Barty was also knocked out of the doubles competition with partner Storm Sanders, having also been beaten in the singles.
However, Barty remains alive in the mixed doubles, as she combined with John Peers to beat Argentina's Nadia Podoroska and Horacio Zaeballos 6-1, 7-6.
