Calling it the 'Towards 100 per cent' campaign, Dr Al-Ani urged other communities to join the initiative.
The campaign's message is simple; 'do your vaccine, any vaccine, anywhere'.
He said communities like Sussex Inlet will considerably gain from a high rate of vaccination not only because of obvious public health reasons but because it will attract tourism to Jervis Bay thereby encouraging other regional communities to do the same.
"I want to encourage people to talk to their doctor or pharmacist if they have any concerns [with vaccines]," said Dr Al-Ani.
He said COVID-19 vaccines has been proven to limit infection, reduce hospital admissions and reduce mortality.
His campaign reminded people that the vaccine will protect you, your family and your community.
Vaccination will help get us back to pre-COVID normalcy and allow us to travel again, he said.
Dr Al-Ani said the vaccine will help the vulnerable as well as healthy people.
He said people should get any vaccine they can as they are all highly effective.
"The risk of COVID-19 infection complication in any individual is way higher than the risk of vaccination," said Dr Al-Ani.
Culburra and Districts Senior Citizens Association organiser Joan Turner was fully supportive of the campaign.
"My views are that I feel that everyone of any age should be vaccinated - I think it's very important for everyone to be healthy and stay healthy for us all," she said.
The Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven region ranked second in the state in vaccinations with 50.5 per cent of people aged 15 and over having received their first jab and 22 per cent having received both doses.
In other news, a NSW Health spokesperson has confirmed the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District supply of the Pfizer doses will not be impacted by the redirection of vaccines to Sydney Year 12 students.
