But if his career has proven anything, he'll be up to it.
On a one-year contract straight after Celtic had loss the Scottish title to Rangers for the first time in a decade, Postecoglou had to prove himself quickly to the fans.
The six straight wins and 24 goals they've produced has gone some way to turning the criticism into praise, but his derby game at the Ibrox is a different proposition, especially when they have a Europa League qualifier to worry about later this week as well.
I played under Ange in the early 2000s, as captain of the Joeys and Young Socceroos teams and he was always a believer of his ways, which have been successful in Japan.
It may not have ended as he would have liked with the Socceroos, leaving before the World Cup in Russia, but he showed the attacking, entertaining style he's made his name with.
He was the type of manager who didn't get too close to the players, but when you're there on the pitch, was very player-orientated, believed in his plans and philosophies and was clear in what he expected.
With victory over Rangers, he could silence the doubters again.
