On Saturday she expects to learn some more when the colt lines up in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty at Kembla Grange.
The race marks Military Expert's black-type debut after a frustrating two-year-old season.

The colt eventually broke through for a maiden victory in Newcastle earlier this month after two promising runs in the city.
A $1.1 million yearling, expectations have always been high for the horse.
Neasham has entrusted Tommy Berry with the ride, the trainer hoping he can replicate his feats on board stablemate Mo'unga in last week's Group 1 Winx Stakes.
Should the jockey deliver a winning ride, Military Expert stands to contest the three-year-old feature races throughout the spring.
"It's a step up in grade on paper, but it's similar opposition to what he took on at Rosehill," Neasham said.
"He wasn't disgraced there. With a less than ideal run, he had to do a bit of work. He's come on well and hopefully will take confidence out of his win.
"We're just taking it race by race with him, he's still a raw horse in his first prep. We'll see how he goes on Saturday."
This weekend will again see the sport's top horses make the trip to Kembla Grange after the Rosehill meeting was shifted south due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Ming Dynasty is one of three Group 3 races on the program, alongside the San Domenico Stakes and Premier's Cup.
Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside remains the San Domenico favourite ahead of Rosebud winner Paulele and boom colt Remarque.
Military Expert is third in the Ming Dynasty market at $5, behind Coastwatch at $2.90 and Matthew Dunn's Subterranean at $4.60.
The support for the Waller runner comes on the back of an eye-catching second in the Up and Coming Stakes a fortnight ago.
Neasham, however, is confident her colt will come out on top and she points to a race in late July to prove why.
"He beat Coastwatch when he took him on the last time they met, so absolutely, he's at the level of those horses."
Saturday's black-type racing will conclude with the 2000m Premier's Cup, Heart Of Puissance the current favourite.
The race is an open contest, with four horses posting single figure odds.
One such runner is Harpo Marx and trainer Bjorn Baker is confident the gelding can build on a last-start win at Randwick.
"He's up in the grade, but he's well," Baker told Sky Racing.
"I think he's definitely got a fitness edge on most of the horses coming into this race, so that gives him a good chance with no weight."
Neasham is the toast of the racing industry after unearthing two of the sport's top horses in her first full season as a trainer.
Already Mo'unga has built on his autumn success by claiming last week's Group 1 Winx Stakes.
The stable is yet to decide whether he remains in Sydney or travels to Melbourne for his next race, with the George Main and Maybe Diva on the radar.
Zaaki took the Brisbane Winter Carnival by storm and Neasham said the seven-year-old will start his new prep in next week's Tramway Stakes at Randwick.
