This data was released by NSW Health via their online mapping tool, and shows uptake to August 26.
The #vaxtheillawarra campaign says in the Illawarra this August alone almost 20 per cent of residents received their first jab and nearly 16 per cent more were fully vaccinated.
The region jumped from 21.3 per cent fully vaccinated to 37 per cent.
Almost 70 per cent of Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands residents have had their first jab. Nearly 42 per cent are fully vaccinated.
"We are still well short of our target of being 80 per cent fully vaccinated," a campaign spokesperson said.
"If we can maintain these numbers during September, we should be comfortably above 50 per cent fully vaccinated right across the region."
The Shoalhaven has almost cracked the top 10 of most vaccinated regions in NSW, sitting at 12 out of 89.
The Illawarra is lagging behind, but still in the top half coming in at number 29 out of 89 regions.
When 70 per cent of NSW is fully vaccinated, restrictions are expected to ease for vaccinated residents.
