To help them reach new heights on the South Coast field, the Gerringong Breakers have handed the keys to one of their most successful products. That man is Brad Boardman, who was recently appointed as the club's senior men's coach in 2022.

"The Breakers have always been a club close to my heart and when they advertised the role for next year, I jumped at the chance," Boardman said.
"The progress they've made since joining Football South Coast has been astonishing and I feel I can build on the work and foundations (previous coach) Andrew (Lockard) and the club have put in place."
Boardman played the majority of his youth career with the Breakers. He made his first grade debut as a teen before representing several South Coast clubs and eventually transitioning into the National Premier League with Sutherland.
It proved fruitful, winning several individual and team accolades, before he tasted success with Bonnyrigg, Dapto/Dandaloo and Bankstown City before returning to Gerringong in 2015.
Boardman then moved away, taking on a captain/coaching role with Helensburgh. He guided them to three championships, as well as multiple grand finals, before returning to the South Coast in late 2020.
In 2021, Boardman tipped his toes back into coaching, assisting Lockard with the Breakers' first grade Community League set up. He's now ready for more.
"It just feels right. I know how much the club wants to get into the District League and I know firsthand the standard needed to be successful in that tough competition," he said.
