Data from NSW Health shows up to 69 per cent of people aged 15 and older in suburbs including Bulli and Austinmer are fully vaccinated, while 80 to 89 per cent of people have received at least one dose.
Places such as Helensburgh, Coalcliff, Kiama and Bombo have a fully vaccinated rate of 50 to 59 per cent, but they too have up to 89 per cent of residents aged 15 and over with at least one dose.
The lowest vaccination rate is in the Cringila, Lake Heights and Primbee area - the postcode of 2502 - where less than 60 per cent of eligible residents have received one dose, and 30 to 39 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.
Across NSW as a whole, just over 46 per cent of people aged 16 and older are fully vaccinated, while more than 78 per cent of people have had at least one shot.
Once the state reaches a fully vaccinated rate of 70 per cent, which is expected in mid-October, those who have had two doses of the vaccine will be allowed to exit lockdown and businesses will start reopening.
Further freedoms will come once 80 per cent of NSW residents aged 16 and older are fully vaccinated - but only for those who have received the jabs.
"For those of you who choose not to be vaccinated, that's your choice, but don't expect to do everything that vaccinated people do, even when we hit 80 per cent," Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on Monday.
With case numbers rising significantly in the Illawarra, Keira MP and opposition health spokesman Ryan Park reiterated his demand that the government ensure the region had an adequate supply of vaccines, citing its links to south and south-west Sydney.
Mr Park said the vaccination centre in Wollongong was running at about 50 per cent capacity.
From next week, the Moderna vaccine will become available at pharmacies for those aged 12 and over.
