The plan is to replace the current footpath with more contemporary paving in two stages, the first starting later this week.

The first stage will see the paving on the south side of the street between Kembla and Corrimal streets replaced.
"Outside of lockdown restrictions, residents will have seen that the Wollongong CBD has become a thriving space for businesses, cafes and local bars," Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said.
"This section of Crown Street needs attention and refurbishment because, like the rest of Crown Street, it is one of the busiest pedestrian routes between the railway station and the Blue Mile."
Stage one is expected to be finished by the end of the year, with work on the northern side of Crown Street to start after summer.
