There will be more traffic changes at the Albion Park Rail bypass this week after planned pavement work on the East West Link to move road users onto the final alignment was delayed by weather last week.
That work is now being carried out from this week and will result in the temporary closure of the East West Link from 7pm to 5am from Monday to Wednesday, from 6am Sunday to 5am next Monday and then from 7pm to 5am each night next week until Thursday.
A detour will be in place via Croome Road, Tongarra Road and the existing Princes Highway. A cyclist detour will be in place via the Princes Highway during this work.
Pavement work is also being carried out on the Princes Highway southbound on-ramp on Tuesday weather permitting. There will be a temporary night closure of the on-ramp for southbound road users during that work. A detour will be in place via the Princes Highway and Colden Drive.
Pavement work will also be carried out on Tongarra Road and the new on-ramp on Thursday and Friday this week, weather permitting. A temporary closure of Tongarra Road will be in place during this work. A light vehicle detour will be in place via Terry Street and Croome Road. Heavy vehicles will be detoured via the Princes Highway and East West Link. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use Tongarra Road during the work.
Traffic changes on the Princes Motorway will also result in the temporary closure of the Tongarra Road exit ramp for work on the top pavement layer on the southern end of the bypass. The Tongarra Road exit ramp is temporarily closed while that work is carried out. Instead, road users can exit at Oak Flats interchange and use the existing Princes Highway to access Albion Park and Albion Park Rail. A cyclist detour is in place via the East West Link and Princes Highway during the work.
