Wollongong resident Dr Rob Goodfellow, Jonathan Copland, of Bali, and former Wollongong City Gallery director Peter O'Neill have written a new Balinese themed book they believe will help lift people's spirits during the COVID-19 lockdown.

"So Many Delicious Years, Murnis Warung Ubud Bali" published by The End Publications New Zealand follows on from another successful book from the writing trio called "The Pen y Gwryd Hotel: Tales from the Smoke Room".
Dr Goodfellow said the new book would appeal to anyone who loves Bali, authentic Balinese cooking, or who just loves life.
"It is uplifting and positive," he said.
"And we need some of that right now."
Dr Goodfellow said the book was about the mother of modern-day tourism in Bali and tells the story of how a humble roadside stall became an institution and a 'must visit' for international tourists.
The easy to read collection of vignettes was originally published to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Murni's Warung in February 2014. The new edition also includes Murni's personal selection of favourite Balinese recipes.

Dr Goodfellow said there were many Wollongong connections with the new book.
Along with Mr O'Neill, who now lives in the Blue Mountains but was a director of Wollongong City Gallery for many years, the New Zealand based publisher Terrease McComb is also from Wollongong.
So Many Delicious Years, Murnis Warung Ubud Bali is available both as a Kindle and in paperback on Amazon. And an audiobook version is currently in production in London.
Dr Goodfellow said he, Mr Copland and Mr O'Neill have been busy on a number of projects during the latest COVID-19 lockdown.
"We have also just finished writing the authorised biography of William 'Bill' Roache, the longest continuously employed actor in television history," he said.
Mr Roache played Ken Barlow on the popular and long running UK television series Coronation Street. Dr Goodfellow said the book titled "The Times and Life of William 'Bill' Roache" was timed to coincide with celebrations in the UK for Mr Roache's 90th birthday next April. It is also be published by The End Publications.
