The jockey pleaded guilty to leaving Greater Sydney without having registered her travel and being away from her place of residence without a reasonable excuse.
Racing NSW stewards assessed a three-month ban, reduced to nine weeks for her early guilty plea and other circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Stewards determined this matter was less serious due to her attendance being at the residence of one person (as apposed to a group of persons) and she was present for a short period of time in a location with low case numbers," the stewards report stated.
Hennessy's suspension comes after a number of high-profile COVID breaches by jockeys in recent months.
The biggest was an incident involving star Melbourne hoops Jamie Kah and Mark Zahra, with bans of up to five months handed out to the five who attended a gathering at a Mornington AirBnB.
Sydney apprentice Tom Sherry was last week given a four-month suspension for attending trackwork while awaiting the results of a coronavirus test. The swab later came back positive.
Hennessy was stood down on Friday night after stewards were made aware of her breach, forcing the Theresa Bateup apprentice to miss Saturday's meeting at Rosehill.
The suspension has been backdated to September 24 and will end on November 26.
