The 30-minute adaption of the children's classic was scheduled to be performed at Centennial Parklands and Wollongong Botanic Garden but instead will premiere via Zoom at 10am, making it accessible to any Illawarra family and beyond.
Theatre company CEO Juliet Scrine said it was frustrating the production had been postponed for a third time due to the latest lockdown, but was glad it could run online as part of the Centennial Parklands school holiday program.
"We wrote a new version of our play to suit the online platform and have incorporated storytelling, fun activities and a glimpse into the world of these popular May Gibbs characters," Mrs Scrine said.
"Children are taken on an adventure in their own living rooms with Mr Lizard, Mrs Kookaburra and Mrs Fantail and of course Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. These beloved characters come to life on zoom in this interactive, funny and enchanting performance."'
She said it was hoped Snugglepot and Cuddlepie could meet families for in person shows in 2022.
