Clearance rates in the region even hit the 100 per cent mark recently.
This momentum appears set to continue, and the Mercury has outlined several homes you can bid on this weekend.
The home at 204 Waples Road, Farmborough Heights will go under the virtual hammer on Saturday.
Set on 808 square metres, the five-bedroom, two-bathroom home has a price guide of $1 million.
The home is located near schools and public transport, and features a rumpus room.
The home has undergone extensive renovations in recent times.
Selling agent, Neil Webster from Stone Real Estate Illawarra said most of the interest was from Sydney buyers looking to escape the city, and enjoy the escarpment views and tranquility of the home.
"For getting into the market for a home of that size and calibre, it's a great opportunity," he said.
Among McGrath Thirroul's Vanessa Denison-Pender current listings is 2a Balmer Crescent, Woonona.
Set on 314 square metres, the four-bedroom house is due to be auctioned on Saturday. It has a price guide of $1.65 million.
"It ticks all the boxes in terms of having a double-car garage, four generous bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms... It's presented in brand new condition," she said.
She said the interest in the home was coming from first home buyers and investors.
"For an investor it's a good, brand new property that doesn't need any work done to it," Ms Denison-Pender said.
"For the first home buyer or someone upsizing from a unit, they also don't have to spend any money on it, as it's all done."
The property at 93 Koloona Avenue, Mount Keira will also go to auction on Saturday.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home is set on 843 square metres.
Selling agent, Anthony Sorace from A-List Property Group Wollongong said this property provides a unique opportunity to separate the lower and upper level, making it ideal for a man cave, teenager's retreat, accommodation for the elderly parents or for extra income.
He said the home was located in a great, family-oriented area, close to parks and schools, and was on a large block.
Mr Sorace said there wasn't a price guide available, but buyer feedback had been around the $1.15 million mark.
He said the majority of the interest was from Illawarra buyers, as well as a couple of interested parties from Sydney.
Meanwhile, the home at 46 Dobbie Avenue, East Corrimal will be auctioned on Saturday.
Selling agent, Angela Bolton from Stone Real Estate Illawarra said the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was located a short walk to the beach.
There isn't a price guide currently available.
She said it was on a perfectly level 683 square metre block, making it an ideal site to renovate, extend or rebuild (subject to council approval).
Ms Bolton said most of the interest in the home was from local young families.
