Thursday, October 14 is World Sight Day and the 2021 theme #LoveYourEyes is all about being aware of your own eye health and if you are able to, get a sight test and recommend that others do the same.

This message is timely for our region, with many people delaying their health check-ups due to COVID-19 lockdowns.

Andrew Reveley owner of Wise Eyes Optical in Wollongong wants the public to know that they shouldn't put off their eye examinations any longer as they have a COVID safe clinic and all staff are fully vaccinated.

"With the easing of restrictions across Greater Sydney we are now fully open and on Monday (October 11) we resumed normal business hours," Andrew said.

"We are following NSW Health guidelines and will be asking everyone to check in and hand sanitise on entry."

Wise Eyes Optical has been operating for 40 years and is a totally independent clinic. They have two fully equipped examination rooms with two optometrists available for appointments.

"We are fully equipped dry eye specialists treating MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction) and other causes of eye discomfort in a dry eye treatment room," Andrew said. "Our optometrists can diagnose the type and severity of dry eye and then advise you on the best form of management for your particular circumstances."

Wise Eyes Optical has a huge range of spectacle frames and sunglasses from budget to designer brands and can supply contact lenses at the best price. Andrew says, "usually at a better price than most online stores."

All their products and services meet the highest possible standards.

"We have always moved with the times so that we can provide you with the most up to date, fully comprehensive eye examination which is bulk billed to Medicare with no out of pocket expense," Andrew said. "We also increase all private health fund benefits by $100 when purchasing prescription spectacles or sunglasses."

Wise Eyes Optical is located at 2-4 Kenny St, Wollongong. Disabled access and car parking is available at the door. To make an appointment call 4227 3330 or for more information go to wiseeyes.com.au
