After the past two seasons were decimated by COVID, the Men's Football Council has opted to pull the IPL forward next year to start on February 26, following consultation with clubs.
The decision means there will be no room on the calendar for the Frat Cup tournament, with clubs advised to organise their own trial games in the pre-season.
The Men's Council has also opted to maintain a similar competition structure in 2022, with the IPL to remain under professional status with 12 clubs competing across three grades. The Illawarra District League will stay under amateur status, with 12 clubs also taking part across three grades.
