Kerrie Humphrey, of HiViz Events, said the weekly markets had just started gathering momentum with locals embracing the space behind Luke's Place in Corrimal Memorial Park.
She said there was a lot of initial interest and she expected many local small businesses and stallholders would reopen and be busy again with COVID-safe practices in place.
"It is such a beautiful space with lovely shady trees."
Ms Humphrey said the weekly markets from 10am to 3pm were an opportunity to shop for fresh produce and home-made products including bread, fresh flowers, honey, jams, street food, pastries and coffee.
"People really embraced the new markets in May and June," she said.
Corrimal Chamber of Commerce spokesperson Paul Boultwood said when the chamber was writing the town centre plan with Wollongong City Council, markets were one of the enhancements the community said it they wanted.
Mr Boultwood said it was encouraging to see many locals and visitors attend the markets every Wednesday in the weeks leading up to the lockdown.
"The Corrimal Park Market has changed the makeup of the area and uses a part of our township that was previously under-utilised," he said.
Mr Boultwood said coming into the warmer months and the Christmas period, stallholders would love to see local smiling faces at Corrimal Park Market every Wednesday.
There will be live acoustic music to provide opportunities for local musicians who have been struggling to find work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Amd during the summer school holidays kids activities are planned for families.
