A Ducati rider has had his license suspended on the spot after he was clocked travelling more than 100kmh over the speed limit on an Illawarra motorway.

Police clocked the 33-year-old male rider travelling northbound at 224kph on the M1 Motorway near Helensburgh, about 10.30am on Sunday.
He was stopped by Wollongong Highway Patrol on a signposted 110kph stretch of road as he made the trip from Wollongong to Sydney.
Police say the rider, from Edmondson Park near Liverpool, was issued an infringement notice for speeding at more than 45kmh over the limit.
He was fined $2547 and instantly lost six demerit points.
His license has been suspended for a minimum six month-period.
