The speed limit on the recently opened stretch of four-lane motorway has been bumped up from 80km/h.
"Residents and travellers can now enjoy a much faster journey on the newest road in our region as the Albion Park Rail bypass has its speed limit raised to 100km/h," Kiama MP Gareth Ward said.
"This project was a major undertaking. By increasing the speed limit, locals can now experience all of the benefits of this beautiful piece of road that has been all too often talked about - but is now delivered."
Motorists didn't have to wait for a formal ribbon-cutting to use the bypass - the northbound lanes were opened to traffic in August, with the southbound lanes following suit last month.
"This upgrade is a game-changer as we say goodbye to the only sets of traffic lights between Bomaderry and Heathcote on the Princes Highway," he said.
"As promised, we have delivered the project well ahead of time and on budget."
