On Wednesday, Yours and Owls announced a complete Australian line-up, with the exception of New Zealand singer Benee, and includes around 35 per cent of musicians from the Illawarra and South Coast.
Other major artists include Peking Duk, Flight Facilities, San Cisco, Violent Soho, Ruby Fields, Faker and The Jungle Giants who will hit the festival's stage at Stuart Park across April 2 and 3.
The announcement comes two months after the event was awarded a $700,000 lifeline from the Federal Government.
Ben Tillman, co-founder of the Yours and Owls group, said artists had been locked in for some time as they had continued to plan ahead for 2022 prior to receiving the grant.
"We were able to get in early and book acts when not much was going on," he said.
"Having gotten [a music festival] out of the way and was successful, that gave a lot of the artists confidence that we'd be able to pull it off again when most events and different operators were not even booking line-ups during that time."
The finer details of the festival are still being worked out with Wollongong City Council, said Mr Tillman, but they hoped to increase their capacity of festival goers at Stuart Park and host as "normal event as possible".
The 2021 festival saw many changes to how it ran due to pandemic restrictions - such as seated zones for patrons and a revolving stage - but organisers don't expect to bring any of those changes into future events.
Ballun Jones from Yours and Owls said the last 18 months had brought many challenges, but they had worked hard to solve those problems and keep their staff employed.
"We're proud to keep our team together and keep our business together and we're looking forward to a festival which is really going to be a celebration of all of that," Mr Jones said.
