Mathew Lawrence Allen, 42, (pictured right) was wearing a white t-shirt over his "beer belly" and had on pink dishwashing gloves and a mask from a hunting-style "ghillie" suit when he confronted the victim in the early hours on January 17 this year.
Documents tendered to Wollongong Local Court said the victim had heard Allen yelling outside his home five minutes earlier and calling him a "piece of shit".
"I'm going to rip ya screen door off and kick ya door in ya piece of shit and go on turn your light on and off, I know you're watching," Allen called out.
The victim said he looked out of his window but could not see anyone.
However, he told police he soon heard a knock at his door. He said he answered it, only to be confronted by Allen, whom he recognised, despite his strange attire.
"I'm a woman basher am I?" Allen asked the victim.
"Want to step outside and prove something? You think you're a big man talking behind my back."
The victim said he was standing about two metres back from the door when Allen grabbed hold of the screen door grill and pulled, causing it to open.
Allen came inside the home and immediately threw a series of punches at the victim, who put his arms up to try and protect himself.
The court heard at one point, the victim curled up on the lounge with his arms over his head in a bid to protect himself, however Allen kneed him in the right leg and punched him in the face, while threatening to kill him.
Allen eventually left the apartment, telling the victim he would kill him if he contacted the police.
The victim called triple-0 as soon as Allen left.
Police arrived a short time later and found the victim with multiple injuries including a cut above his right eye, a sore left wrist, shoulder and arm, red marks on his neck and a cut on his ear.
Officers also located the mask, which contained Allen's DNA, near a set of stairs.
Allen was arrested an hour later and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged.
He subsequently pleaded guilty to an aggravated break and enter charge in court on Wednesday.
The case was adjourned to November 19, when a date will be set for sentencing.
