The qualifier for December's $150,000 final is slated to be run this weekend, however the weather could put a stop to the meeting before it even begins.
The track is currently rated a Heavy (8), with more rain forecast for Friday.
A number of local horses are slated to contest the 1400-metre race, with the field expected to shrink if the surface deteriorates.
Luke Price intends to scratch Ilvermorny if the rain continues, however he's confident stablemate Kobestar will enjoy the heavy going.
"He's well placed with Mitchell Bell on board," Price said. "He's trained on since the Four Pillars and is going to get a run a bit more to his liking.
"He's got the action of a horse that will handle the wet, he's had one start on heavy for third. He'll be hard to beat."
Theresa Bateup's Divine Breath is one of the more fancied chances after an impressive third in last month's Four Pillars.
Carrying just 55kg, the trainer is expecting a big performance and she's looking forward to booking a place in the final on December 18.
"I finally get into one of these set-weight races good at the weight," Bateup said. "We're the equal-highest rated horse, but get in on the minimum.
"This year the final is at Newcastle, the last few years it's been at Wyong and Gosford. If we can qualify, she'll be much better suited there."
Bateup also has Shaka Rock nominated, the gelding to be ridden by Shaun Guymer.
