CLIMATE CHANGE PREDICTIONS
The Broelman cartoon in Monday's Mercury aptly sums up the end of COP26 in Glasgow with a monstrous cruise ship waiting to ferry the delegates home, not realising that most had already flown home in their private jets. Meanwhile, back in Oz, flooding rains have yet again filled Wyangala and Warragamba dams to overflowing. Down in Tassie, an Antarctic blast has turned Hobart into a winter wonderland, only two weeks before the start of summer. Has this November in Wollongong been the coldest ever?

But our school and university students, big business bosses, the new Australian Chief Scientist and politicians of all persuasions swallow the predictions of false prophets and continue to demand that Australia take more ambitious action to reach net zero CO2 emissions.
Meanwhile, China, the economic and military super power and so-called developing country, continues to build coal-fired power stations and the massive Tiangong Space Station, as they power their economy.
Australia continues to stagnate with politicians and business leaders stubbornly refusing to provide cheap, reliable power and increased water storage.

TAX THE RICH
'Can do capitalism' has placed wealth in the hands of a few billionaires because they own the technology that produces that wealth. Morrison says technology will be used to solve global warming and not tax. But the way the billionaires have used technology is the reason for the gross difference in wealth. And it will continue to serve their profits, not society's welfare, until their gross wealth is taxed.

ELECTION'S GREATEST HITS
Recently we were discussing the tunes that could be used by different parties in the upcoming Federal election. For the LNP: True Lies (K.W.Sheppard), Bad Moon Rising (Creedence), Yellow Submarine (Beatles), but we were split on Crime of the Century (Supertramp) & Road to Nowhere (Talking Heads). Labor: Miss You or Start Me Up (Rolling Stones). The Greens: A Day in a Life (Beatles). One Nation: Dazed & Confused (Led Zeppelin). Can anyone suggest other tunes that represents our political parties?

GREENS POLICIES
I wanted to decry Fake News and email Mark Zukerberg in case Mr Cox's letter made it's way to social media however for the home viewer the Greens main platforms for this election are: 1. More footpaths, cycle ways, free shuttles so it's safer to get around 2. Improve beaches, landscaping and limit over-development to keep us looking good and 3. Develop the hydrogen hub so there's work in the future.

COUNCIL POLL
The signs are up. Some familiar faces. So far policies by some candidates are interesting. I still don't know which city councillors represent my suburb. So maybe they need to be more prominent. Hopefully our city won't just get the same old election cliches. There's lots to be done especially with a fire season on the horizon. One suggestion might be local youth forums to get feedback from our climate change citizens.
