A Wollongong man has been refused bail over serious allegations of sexual assault on a woman that date back to January this year.
Police further allege Adrian Steven Macdonald, 39, viciously attacked his father causing three broken ribs last month.
Documents tendered to Wollongong Local Court this week said police allege Macdonald was at his father's house on November 21 about 7pm when he was asked if he had been doubly vaccinated, to which he allegedly replied, "why the f*** do you need to get political with me?"
Macdonald allegedly punched his 60-year-old father in the face, with the blow knocking him to the ground and causing immediate pain.
Macdonald's 20-year-old daughter came to the defence of her grandfather, pushing her father away. He then alleged pushed his daughter into a wall.
Macdonald then allegedly kicked his father in the torso, shattering three ribs, while screaming abuse at him.
The daughter called the police after Macdonald left the house, telling officers she was fearful of her father. Paramedics also arrived and took the elderly man to hospital for treatment to his broken ribs, bruising and swelling to his jaw.
Meanwhile police allege on January 16 this year, Macdonald pretended to be a police officer when a woman was packing up some belongings from a Mangerton unit.
Macdonald allegedly told the woman, "It's the police. Turn around and put your hands where I can see them" while shining a torch at her.
The woman turned around believing Macdonald was a real officer before he allegedly took hold of her and slammed her head into the side of a cupboard multiple times.
Macdonald allegedly made the woman walk to another unit and she went inside with the intention of calling police.
He then allegedly injected himself with a substance before demanding the woman take two white pills, which she did out of fear.
Macdonald then allegedly sexually assaulted her.
He allegedly became angry with the woman pleading to leave and threw a small knife at her, which she blocked with her hand.
Macdonald then allegedly used both hands to choke the woman and she lost consciousness.
Police allege the woman suffered significant bruising to her neck and shoulder area, genital region and a cut to her hand. The documents did not disclose when the woman informed police about the alleged sexual assault.
The court heard Macdonald was arrested after police applied for a warrant related to both allegations before he was arrested on Monday.
He was charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidation.
He is also facing charges of three counts of aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentionally choking a person without consent.
In court, police prosecutor Sergeant Richard Novatin opposed bail, adding both allegations involved an "extreme explosive use of violence in unprovoked situations".
Defence lawyer Anastasia Socorro said Macdonald denied the sexual assault allegations noting there did not appear to be physical evidence collected. She also suggested Macdonald could stay away from his father.
Magistrate Claire Girotto noted Macdonald's lengthy criminal history, his previous non-compliance with court orders and she refused bail. He will next appear in court on December 9.
