The Oaks Flats all-rounder has picked up 18 wickets in five Sheffield Shield games since moving in the off-season from NSW. He will now swap his whites for the lime green, with the Thunder starting their BBL season on Monday night against the Heat in Canberra.
"It's helped with my confidence. I've always wanted to play Sheffield Shield cricket, not just Twenty20, so to make the move down to South Australia and get game time regularly has been rewarding," McAndrew said.
"I feel like I'm riding a bit of momentum and I'm looking forward to starting up the Big Bash. I just want to pick up from where I left off last year and keep that really attacking mindset, whether it be with the ball or bat. I just want to make an impact on the game and do whatever job's required of me."
