Three Wollongong residents and one Kiama resident tested positive for the virus in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday.
Investigations are ongoing into the Wollongong cases, which are among residents of the postcodes of 2500, 2530 and 2517.
The Kiama case, in the postcode of 2534, is linked to a known case.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District urges the community to stay vigilant and come forward for testing and vaccination.
It follows a public health alert that was issued last week in relation to several venues in Wollongong.
The local health district said contact tracing continued, and NSW Health was notifying close contacts of identified cases directly.
NSW has recorded no new deaths from COVID.
There are 152 people in hospital, including 24 in intensive care.
