In Wollongong seven cases were reported to 8pm on Tuesday, with three being investigated. Four are linked to a known case. The cases are from the 2502 (1), 2508 (2), 2515 (1) 2518 (1) 2525 (2) postcodes.
Three are from the Shellharbour postcode of 2529. One is linked to a known case.
Three cases, including one linked case, are from the Shoalhaven postcode of 2529. A further three, with two linked to a known case, are from 2540 postcode.
There were more than 24,280 COVID-19 tests carried out in the Illawarra Shoalhaven for the week ending Sunday, 5 December.
There have been 2,636 cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since June.
Across NSW COVID-19 cases spiked to 403 as health authorities reveal five of those people contracted the virus on a Sydney Harbour party boat cruise - and two of them probably have the new Omicron variant.
There are 34 cases of Omicron in the state but no one with the new strain has been admitted to hospital for treatment, NSW Health said on Wednesday.
The new case tally is a jump of 143 infections on the previous day's numbers.
