Marketing manager Holly Howell said Wollongong Central wanted to give Illawarra families more time to find the perfect gift and other necessities for the Christmas celebration.
Ms Howell said along with extended shopping hours craft workshops were being held to help shoppers create some more Christmas magic in their homes.
She said after a stressful 2021, Wollongong Central was doing everything it can to help local families relax and enjoy the experience of creating some special memories.
"Christmas can be such a hectic time and it's important we don't get so caught up trying to make everything perfect that we forget to enjoy the experience itself.
"If we've learnt anything over the past two years, it's the importance of enjoying the social interaction of the occasion.
"To help families make the most of the remaining weeks until Christmas, we're extending our trading hours in the centre to allow them to browse at their leisure.
"We're also engaging with local companies to provide a selection of workshops so people can create handmade decorations and presents or learn how best to capture their special moments using their phone camera.
"On December 18 and 19 we will have roving entertainers in the centre between 11am and 2pm and if gift wrapping isn't your strong point, you can have it done for you in return for a $2 donation to Lifeline between December 9 and 23.
The centre will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open from 9am to 5pm on Boxing Day.
