Jye "Jyrio" Westaway said his colourful creation at the home on the corner of Towradgi Road and Memorial Drive was one of his favourite artworks to date.
The spraypaint artist said it was also a perfect example of art imitating life during the COVID 19 pandemic.
"I feel like most of us are trying to climb ahead and get through the struggle, just like the gecko up the chimney," he said.
"A lot of people who have seen it have told me it made them smile or it brightened their day, which is fantastic especially seeing so many people are going through tough times."
Homeowner Sharon O'Keefe said she commissioned Westaway for the job after seeing him turn wheelie bins in to works of art.
"I wanted to put something up there that would brighten things up a bit and make people smile when they drive by," she said.
"I absolutely love it - it's given my home new life."
