Why not let Djokovic take the risk?
I fail to realise what all the big fuss is about for Novak Djokovic getting granted entry to Australia as an un-vaccinated sportsperson.

It's Mr Djokovic who is taking all the risks in travelling the world in the middle of a COVID-19 pandemic.
He clearly has no regard for his health and, as his very livelihood depends on good health, he is gambling on not catching the virus.
Tens of thousands of Australians are putting themselves at risk by not getting vaccinated. It's a personal choice and if they don't want the jab so be it. It's not compulsory.

Trust your doctors
I'm curious. If so many people are saying they don't trust doctors and medical science with the COVID vaccinations, why are so many unvaccinated people going into hospitals to be treated by doctors and medical science when they contract the disease?
Why clog up the medical systems if they don't trust them ?

In response to Woke
Hyperventilating about so-called 'wokeness' and riding the wobbly 'anti-woke' bandwagon is not only incredibly boring but it's surely bad for ones health ("A world ruled by woke", 5/1).
Anti-wokers like Richard Burnett need to take a deep breath and focus on the arguments rather than the idealogy and silly labels.
We'd all be better off. So would the W key on Mr Burnett's keyboard.

Nuclear debate needs transparency
The comments of Heathcote MP Lee Evans are uninformed and disappointing ("Nuclear power for our homes", Illawarra Mercury, 4/1/22).
As a public servant he owes his people the scientific and economic truth.
First, the suggestion that coal is not driving climate change is completely unfounded.
Fossil fuel use is the number one driver of climate change.
Second, promoting nuclear as a viable alternative is inappropriate because nuclear power is expensive, takes years to develop, and is currently banned in Australia.
The people of the Heathcote electorate deserve honesty about the need to transition away from coal power toward renewable energy.
Rather than receiving misinformation from a detached leader, local communities should be involved in an inclusive planning process to achieve a just transformation of their economy and jobs over the coming decade.
