A hazardous surf warning has been issued this morning for the Illawarra and other parts of the New South Wales coastline, as the Bureau of Meteorology warns of wild seas.

Rock fishing, boating, and swimming are expected to be hazardous, and authorities have recommended staying out of the water if possible.
"Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf," NSW Police Force advised.
"Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage," Police advised
Showers are expected to continue throughout the week and into the weekend.
