
Bunnings has recalled a popular gardening tool amid fears that it could cause electric shock or injury.
The Ozito Portable Electric Blower - model number 0ZBL1800WA - has been removed from sale at Bunnings stores nationally as part of an electrical safety recall.

The green blower was available for sale between 2009 and March 2015. The recall applies to a large number of batch numbers.

Bunnings advises that a defect poses a risk of electric shock and/or injuries.
"The impeller can break during use and rupture the casing, giving access to live parts and releasing sharp objects at high speed," Bunnings says.
The malfunction has already caused a number of injuries to consumers.
Bunnings has encouraged anyone with an Ozito Portable Electric Blower to take the following steps:
- Stop using the blower immediately and unplug it from the power point," it says.
- Check the batch number of the blower to see if you have the recalled product.
- If so, contact Ozito on 1800 069 486 and then visit your nearest Bunnings store to arrange an upgrade."
All units marked with the following batch numbers are covered by the recall.
The batch number label is located near the air intake vent.
